our story

The Roy Leighton Partnership is made up of a gifted and strangely attractive bunch of driven people with a shared, infectious vision: the unwavering desire to help people and organisations fulfill their unique potential. Whether in business or education, our dynamic, exciting approach supports the development of a highly successful environment. By focusing on intellectual, practical and emotional levels and applying the Gravesian Spiral Dynamics tool we create lasting value within every environment we visit. [Don't just take our word for it. Check out the testimonials on this site to see what our clients think of us...]

At RLP we know the key to engagement is an intellectually rigorous approach combined with high-octane fun, and our enlivening methods are always people-centred. With children, we focus on what drives them to learn and then give them tried-and-tested tools to stay motivated to do so. For adults, we zoom in on their vision and values and how these can be successfully harnessed.

Our experience includes teaching, acting, journalism, cabaret singing, personal coaching, card magic and training, plus our bespoke brand of ‘stand-up educationalism’.

* LATEST NEWS *

It's a veritable hive of industry at RLP! Here's what's keeping the consultants busy as we kick off 2010:

On the commercial front, we're still working with Unilever – delivering programmes on values, learning and managing evolution (U.K. and Europe) alongside the gifted people of Sequioa.

Social/Educational:

More staff INSETs than you could shake a stick at. We are focussing on:

* The creative curriculum for KS3

* The child as the learner (giving the learning to the students and weekends back to the staff)

* Values-driven organisations and curriculum – how to build a consistent approach to leadership, learning and life skills across the school community.

* Moving between KS2 and KS3 - how to build off the learning and increase the challenge of independent learning.

This quote from happy customer, teacher Jim Smith from Clevedon Community School, North Somerset:

'Maths Results Day has delivered what we wanted - a large number of students gaining FULL MARKS!'

Long-term programmes

and partnerships:

Abu Dhabi – assisting the Abu Dhabi education department and their international partners to develop schools for the 21st Century.

Lots of shared programmes with the fine people of Independent Thinking Ltd focusing on building a consistency of approach to learning, behaviour and enterprise.

Our ten year association with the Raising Standards Partnership and Aimhigher continues with the BECOME programmes for years 9, 10, 11 and now 6th formers.

Research:

We're working with the University of Lancaster on the development of learning and emotional intelligence in medical students alongside Dr. Andrew Curran and Derek Williams.

We're also developing a programme with the University of Northampton to address the confidence, learning and skills development for the young unemployed.

KARMA ENDURO 2009

Huge thanks to all those who supported Roy and Andrew in their 2000km drive across southern India - you've helped raise nearly £125k for two worthy charities: UNICEF India supports HIV/AIDS and child protection projects, and The Rainbow Trust helps families that have a child suffering from a terminal illness.
